World-class concerts in Bolzano: Bolzano Festival Bozen 2025

The South Tyrolean capital of Bolzano, recently named a UNESCO Creative City of Music, is once again set to host a major cultural event in the summer of 2025: the Bolzano Festival Bozen! Every year, the festival brings together outstanding artistic talent – students from top international music academies collaborate with world-renowned soloists and conductors to create concerts of the highest artistic caliber.

Among the highlights of the 2025 program are the final rounds of the prestigious International Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition; a performance by Sir John Eliot Gardiner, who leads the Mahler Academy Orchestra in search of the authentic sound of the early 20th century; Pablo Ferrández – often hailed as “the new Yo-Yo Ma” – performing with the European Union Youth Orchestra under Vasily Petrenko; and violinist Sayaka Shoji, a guest of the Bolzano String Academy. Additional festival highlights include Alina Ibragimova and Renaud Capuçon, who will appear with the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under Iván Fischer and Manfred Honeck.
