Symposium: Closing Remarks

At the conclusion of the symposium, Martin Cullingford, Chief Editor of Gramophone, joins pianists Yifan Wu, Nikolas Meeuwsen, and Josu de Solaun, journalist Serena Bortone, and Artistic Director Peter Paul Kainrath, to revisit the key themes and insights that emerged throughout the previous day’s discussions. The session focuses on the central questions that have guided the symposium: How are artistic identity and individuality evolving in a rapidly changing musical landscape? What role does the artist’s personality play today, and what perspectives lie ahead for the future of musical interpretation? The Closing Remarks provide an opportunity for personal reflection, the exchange of diverse perspectives, and a concluding synthesis of the discussions.
